About Maria
A public-service journey rooted in Ebonyi.
Maria Ude Nwachi is a Nigerian politician, media personality and former member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly. She represented the Afikpo North-East State Constituency from 2015 to 2019 and served as Minority Leader during her time in the Assembly. In May 2026, she emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party's candidate for the Ebonyi South Senatorial District contest ahead of the 2027 National Assembly elections.
Her stated motivation for seeking the Senate is centred on effective, community-based representation and using legislative responsibility to address the issues that matter most to the people of Ebonyi South.
